Job Title: CAREER TECHNICAL EDUCATION SPECIALIST – AGRISCIENCE

Full School Year
To assist in providing a well-organized and smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the adapted instructional program and the available resource material.
Must have graduated from high school (Associates Degree preferred).
Must have a minimum of two years of recent and relevant work experience in the Agriscience Industry (landscaping, greenhouse/nursery operations and/or related areas).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, local employer representatives, and teachers.
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to details, organize, prioritize, and work independently, as well as schedule and produce work in a timely manner.
Must possess strong math, verbal and writing skills and have the ability to work effectively with a diverse population of high school students.
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with bus driver endorsement.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists in providing specialized instruction in the various aspects of Career Technical Education (CTE).
Assists students on a one-to-one or small group basis as directed by the CTE Instructor.
Uses remedial and tutorial techniques, as directed, to assist students to gain the most from their instruction.
Assists in maintaining discipline, aiding individual students and assisting the CTE Instructor to have a greater influence on the learning process.
Assists in the set up and operation of equipment used in the teaching process.
Accepts responsibility for operating the bus to transport students on field trips and out of building work sites when necessary.
Assists with inter-departmental projects and maintains program assets and showcase areas.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Administration.
Attends seminars/conferences to enhance training skills and professional development.
